This geriatric gang is real, they’re here and here’s going to be trouble and fun.

The town needs more unworthy old women. And now they come. Insecurity is spreading; the borders of decency are crossed with relish.

Better not mess with these old ladies. With typical wit and physical exertion, Irrwisch shows that pensioners could also use a riot. Coached by “Cacahuète” theatrical provocateurs, the granny gang embarks on rule-breaking with their little hats and brollies.

Even better than the old Monty Python concept: because this geriatric gang is real, they’re here and there’s going to be trouble and fun.

Since 1992 the group has been touring the summers of this world with their colourful programme.

In their productions the focus is not only on acrobatics, or stilt-walking .These elements are only used to transport stories about being human, stories about zaniness, about life in society and things about which we try to fool ourselves and others.

The off-beat characters change the audience’s way of looking at things. Spontaneity and improvisation are characteristic elements of the art created by Irrwisch. The company breaks taboos and pushes back borders; they win us over in a rare and heart-warming way. Wherever they appear, the actors from Irrwisch inspire general enthusiasm
